Sensible skin
What is the cause of sensitive skin?
In contrast to the dermatologically defined skin types, sensitive skin is not necessarily innate, but can also develop over time. There are three main factors behind the causes of sensitive skin:
-
Genetics: Some people just naturally have sensitive skin. The protective acid mantle is often not so stable here, which can also manifest itself in a skin disease such as neurodermatitis or rosacea. This skin is usually light and can quickly become dry and flaky.
-
External and internal influences: Environmental influences can put a lot of strain on our skin barrier, so that it is permanently damaged and sensitive skin develops as a result. On the one hand, this can be irritating cosmetic products or perfumed products, on the other hand, it can also simply be exposure to the sun, cold, wind, environmental pollution, etc. The psyche and, above all, stress also play a decisive role. An unhealthy lifestyle, alcohol and nicotine also weaken our skin barrier.
-
Skin diseases: Skin diseases that occur in flares, such as acne, rosacea, neurodermatitis, etc., can also disrupt the protective acid layer of the skin. This means that when the disease is acute, the skin is also more sensitive to other influences.
What helps with sensitive skin?
Our tips for sensible skin
Thorough make-up removal
Thorough makeup removal is a must, especially if you had makeup and/or sunscreen on your face all day. If you dont remove your make-up thoroughly, it clogs the pores more easily, which in turn can lead to irritation and irritation.
With sensitive skin it is very important that the skin is gen tly cleaned.
The right face cream for sensitive skin
A cream for sensitive skin should be formulated to be low-irritant and not contain any questionable ingredients.
The most important thing is that you choose a cream that supports the bodys own substances. This means that the skins protective barrier is strengthened.
Ideal are Peptides like in our MultiLIFT Youth Cream. Also soothing ingredients like Licorice Root, Witch Hazel, Shea Butter, Aloe Vera, Avocado Oil, Jojoba Oil and Ginkgo Biloba.
If the skin lacks moisture and has dry spots, for example, this can be done very well with our Hydro+ Serum to be compensated.
These products provide your skin with optimal moisture, strengthen the skins protective barrier and are completely free of irritating or harmful ingredients.
Tip:
The basic rule for sensitive skin is: less is more! In order not to further weaken the skins protective barrier, you should therefore avoid frequent and long showers and water that is too hot. To avoid irritation on sensitive skin, you should not rub your skin dry after showering, but gently pat dry with a towel.

Hypersensitive skin or allergic skin reaction?
An important distinction is between sensitivity and allergy. While various causes can contribute to sensitive skin, there is one key difference to an allergic reaction.
Sensitive skin often reacts to external influences with reddening or irritation. An allergic reaction, on the other hand, is triggered by an excessive immune response by the body and is usually due to certain ingredients.
The skin then often reacts with severe itching and burning in the face or in the affected areas. Wheals and many small pimples are also not untypical. If such a reaction occurs, the product should be discontinued immediately. If there is no improvement in sight, you should definitely consult a doctor or dermatologist.

This is often because the skin reacts to many external and internal influences. Some also suddenly have sensitive skin, but this is more likely to indicate that you caused it yourself through certain environmental influences such as incorrect care.
If you switch to good products, you can quickly get your sensitive skin under control again. In general, this skin is a great skin type with the right care, because the skin shows you directly what you dont tolerate well. Often these are ingredients that are not necessarily optimal for the body.
